A new early chapter book series starring a lovable vampire who’s just trying to fit in.

From Transylvania to America, Frankie and his family are looking for a fresh start. Where Frankie is from, the school day began at midnight and ended at dawn. Now in America, Frankie and his family must adjust their sleep schedule, train to be out in the sun, and strictly adhere to a vegan, zero-blood diet.

- Authors of Frankie D. Vegan Vampire on KOIN 6, a television channel in Portland, Oregon, discussing the new series.
Praises for the illustrations of Frankie D.
"[...]The main characters are illustrated with gray-tinged skin, while names and images of other classmates imply racial diversity. For kids hungry for a wholesome vampire story without the gore.."

"[...]Movement-filled grayscale spot illustrations by animator Brown depict characters with varying skin tones."

"[...]The illustrations were spot on and made my children laugh, especially the depiction of Aldo and Auntie Ethel. Both my children (6 & 9) stated they would read an entire series of Frankie D.
*Thank you to Sally & Brian Dutra, Tiffani Brown, Netgalley and Kids Can Press for the ARC copy. I am freely leaving my honest review."

"[...]Firstly, the photos that are sprinkled all around this book are literally my most favorite thing ever. I 10/10 would purchase any one of these art pieces and put them up in my home and bring them out in my library for Halloween. They're so cute without being too spooky, and engaging without being forceful. And they're all in black and white!!! It just adds to the feel and story in such an adorably big way. [...]
